ORPS produces 6 publications a year, electronically and some hard copy, and holds an annual training conference and trade show. Other ORPS activities include co-sponsorship of the educational sessions for the Oklahoma Municipal League, membership on the Oklahoma Fit Kids Coalition and providing bond prizes for the winners of the Playground Safety Week poster contest. This contest is co-sponsored by ORPS, Oklahoma Dept. of Labor and Oklahoma Dept. of Education.
ORPS Mission is to provide professionals with leadership, educational, personal and professional development opportunities to promote the importance of quality environmental, cultural, recreational and park services. An extension of the educational role is keeping the legislature informed of the recreation and leisure concerns confronting the citizens of our state. ORPS supports the legislative agendas of the Oklahoma Fit Kids Coalition and the National Recreation and Park Association.
